Hi Clint — I came across your blog as I was trying to find a website for the Ruth Project and couldn’t help but notice that we attended a lot of the same sessions at the Next Big Idea conference.

I’d like to learn more about what you are doing at Park Lake re: reaching out to the community.

I run a website called http://www.actlocallywaco.org whose purpose is to help churches get more involved in helping to heal hunger and poverty in Waco. So far the site is mainly an event list; I’d love to pick your brain about what might be helpful features to add to the site.

I was often frustrated on how to measure what we do as well. Then I realized after a workshop I attended that the best way to gauge our effectiveness was through the stories of the people as they serve.

If we have more stories than last year, we are growing. If we don’t, then we are declining.

The Pastor’s Conferences will start back up in September. Currently they are held each time at the Piper Great Hall at George W. Truett Seminary here in Waco, TX. They are on the first Wednesday of each month (Sept.-May). If you are in the area come by, you can be my guest
